I discovered my passion for hairshaping during my apprenticeship in 1986. The decade of the cold perm. But in the mid-90s no one wanted a perm anymore. But in 1996, a Japanese stylist Yuko Yamashita invented the „reverse perm“, i.e. the first permanent hair straightening. Since 2013 I have specialized in hair transformations.

Yuko permanently smooths hair without compromising hair health. This means you will have smooth lengths and curly roots if you do not touch up. Depending on the growth rate, the touch-up time will be between 6-8 months.

Bleached hair cannot receive this treatment.

This can contribute to people getting the impression that all Asians have straight hair. But that’s not correct. In Asia, people get their first perm or hair straightening from the age of 5. The Japanese are the pioneers of permanent hair straightening!
You can’t always tell how popular hair straightening is in Asia because the focus is on making it look natural.

I am prepared for all hair situations and have a wide range of products to give everyone straight hair.
However, it is important to note that the best treatment for your hair can only be decided at the appointment, regardless of which method is booked.
Each hair type is unique and may require different approaches.
As a service provider, I have developed a concept that aims to provide you with all the relevant information you need.
At my concept, the pre-consultation deliberately takes a back seat.
You can make an appointment with me, preferably without arranging a prior consultation. Only after a deep hair cleansing, I am able to professionally answer all your questions about your hair situation.
If you still prefer a prior consultation, you also have the option to book a paid 30-minute consultation.
Please note: It would be ideal if you appear to the consultation appointment with open and air-dried hair.
Additionally, it is advisable to inform yourself in advance about the services offered. A consultation appointment is not meant to repeatedly basic information that can already be found on the website.
Instead, it should serve to clarify any remaining questions.
A principle of my philosophy is that my customers deserve my full attention!
As a sole proprietor, I am unfortunately unable to offer telephone appointments or consultations for hair straightening.
My services are in high demand and are considered standard throughout Asia. My luxury treatments are also well known and can be found everywhere in cities such as London and New York, but they are rarely or never found in Germany.
It is a widespread habit to immediately look for my telephone number, even though all the information can be found on my website.
To counteract the constant calls, I do not give out a public telephone number.
Thanks to my informative website, Yuko has brought me a solid clientele from all over Germany and neighboring countries since 2015 without publishing a public telephone number.
However, appointments can be easily booked online around the clock.
It was unfortunate that back in 2013 I discovered that around 60% of the agreed appointents were not kept. This was because my salon was one of the first to offer the new keratin straightening. Other salons also had similar experiences in 2016-2018.
For this reason I require an advance payment of €150 for every booking. Hair straightening is billed based on time spent at an hourly rate of €70.
Unlike many other salons, I have chosen to structure my prices in a way that makes hair straightening affordable for everyone!
Hair salons must generate a contribution margin of at least €65 per hour to reach the legal minimum wage. This means that a minimum of €520 in revenue must be generated after 8 hours.
To achieve this, they must perform a haircut every 20 minutes for around €23 each, or 6 haircuts at €13 each per hour. This results in a material cost of 10 cents. With a mass production approach without quality standards, they generate a revenue of €345 after 5 hours.
However, most salons value quality and charge around €70-80 for a one-hour haircut, as quality requires more time. This incurs a material cost of approximately €2. After 5 hours of cutting and styling hair, they generate a revenue of around €375.
In comparison, I offer hair straightening for €70 and generate a revenue of €350 in 5 hours, including high-quality and expensive products valued at €40-60 per treatment. After deducting taxes, my salon retains €56.70 per hour, which is the absolute minimum. Services that include products take material costs into account.
Therefore, such treatments are typically charged at over €100 per hour in salons worldwide. However, I have been offering my services at a fair price of €70 since 2015. Due to increased product costs, I plan to raise my prices to €75-80 per hour in 2025.
My customers are often asked about their long, silky hair and many ask if they have had their hair straightened.
The answer is: „Yes, it is a Yuko hair straightener.“ When asked about the price, they answered €420 and that the treatment lasted 6 hours.
Many find this too expensive and look for cheaper alternatives.
What is often overlooked is that hair straightening takes time and cannot be rushed.
A treatment that lasts 6 hours cannot simply be shortened. The effectiveness of smoothing products depends on the careful application by the stylist. The right timing for rinsing is crucial. Fine sections when straightening are important to ensure the hair remains smooth permanently.
My customers ultimately tell me that they then received a 3-hour hair straightening procedure and paid €280, which corresponds to an hourly price of €93 for hair straightening.
Unfortunately, after the treatment, her hair was damaged or the curls soon returned.
Because I want to see a smile on your face, you can only achieve it with YUKO. With Yuko, you are guaranteed that the smoothing treatment actually works and the treatments typically last from 4 hours. However, this is very rare. Most treatments last between 4.5 and 5.5 hours, with long hair often taking up to 6 hours.
