Step by Step
The treatment
Every salon has its method, but these are the general steps to permanent hair straightening
Consultation
A stylist will check you hair type, chemical history, dryness and damage level.
Shampoo & Pre-treatment
The hair is washed and the appropriate pre-treatments are applied. The pre-treatments prepare the hair with the necessary nutrients for processing.
The process
The product is applied 1 cm from the scalp and left to saturate the hair.
Before using the Yuko solution, the hair has a pH of 4.5 – 5.5. During the processing of step 1, the pH increases to 8-9. The hair is now relaxed and 80% smoother. The hair has very little elasticity and stretches very easily when you do the elasticity test – the hair is now ready to be rinsed.
Rinse out the cream
The solution is rinsed off completely. The hair receives heat protection and is blow-dried.
Straightening
Ironing with a straightener creates a permanent straight shape.
It’s important to pay attention to fine sections, which is crucial to keeping the hair permanently straight. In total, each section is straightened 3 times.
Neutralization and styling
By applying the neutralizer, the straightened hair is conditioned and finalized. After rinsing off the neutralizer, the hair is blow-dried.
The Result
The time required for Yuko straightening is 5.5 hours and my price is €385. In international comparison, a realistic price of 500-550 €/US$/£ is calculated for this treatment. This price corresponds to the standard for other permanent hair straightening products if you want to achieve a perfect result. Although there are cheaper providers, they often do not pay attention to fine sections, which is crucial for the hair to remain permanently straight.
The follow-up treatments will take approximately 45-60 minutes less time.
No matter whether after 3, 6, 9 or 12 months. The hair undergoes the same treatment as the initial treatment, the areas that have already been straightened receive a controller to protect these areas.
Alternatively, the smoothed areas can also receive a Hair Botox treatment at the same time.
Every Yuko customer can be sure that her straightening will only be carried out by an expert.
Before stylists can purchase Yuko products, they must first receive solid basic training and hand-on training at the Yuko Academy London. That’s why Yuko is not so common in Europe.
This Yuko hair straightening is world famous, which is why Yuko is often used as a synonym by many stylists, even though these products are not available!

Aftercare tips
However, this thermal reconditioning also gives customers the illusion that their hair is healthy again, and many tend to neglect their hair after the procedure.
In fact, the hair now needs care after every hair wash to ensure it maintains its healthy appearance.
Immediately after thermal reconditioning, the hair must remain dry and smooth for 48 hours.
You now have to absorb oxygen for 2 days; you can straighten it with a straightener.
The new shape is only completely fixed after 48 hours.
That’s why you shouldn’t wear a ponytail, and you should also avoid tucking your hair behind your ears, as this could lead to kinks.
What makes Yuko different?
For beautiful, smooth and permanently healthy hair, the focus is on Yuko straightening the hair without compromising the health of the hair. During post-treatment, all areas that have already been smoothed are first treated with the Yuko Controller in order to avoid further chemical treatments in these areas. The Yuko Controller protects the already smoothed areas and prevents the cream from working on these areas again.
It is crucial that the straightened areas are carefully protected to maintain the health of the hair. Root smoothing is a sophisticated technique that shows whether the stylist has mastered his craft.
The smoothing product is then applied at a distance of 1 cm from the scalp. It is only applied to the new growth.
If you’ve had hair straightening experiences where the first treatment was perfect, but subsequent treatments caused damage to the already straightened areas and left the hair dry and brittle, then those areas probably received another unnecessary chemical treatment each time. This is not the case with Yuko!
